They are also more volatile, but this is formulated for low volatility. Ester is used in grass, corn, small grains, sorghum, and soybeans. Ester is the preferred 2,4 D option when using UAN. While both formulations can have mixing issues, the amine formulation is more difficult to mix with UAN than ester because it tends to precipitate out of solutions. A jar test should be
