JONES' LES VENDEUSES DE TISSUE Hand Dyed on Sock Perfection - Block Variegated Yarn oct25-2 YARN BASEI dyed it onThis colorway was inspired by a painting of Lois Mailou Jones called Les Vendeuses de Tissue. I left the title in the original French, but it simply means the fabric sellers. Jones was an amazing artist who painted from early childhood until she was in her 90s. She moved to Paris in the 1930s and later married a Haitian artist. She spent many years living in Haiti and painting scenes of everyday life there like this one. YARN BASE I dyed it on Sock
