Flying Over Flushing shape-vertical stood majestically in the BronxPassenger jets, on their descent into LaGuardia Airport, are known for their low passes over the Chinese neighborhood of Flushing, Queens. In this double exposure image, a jet coming in for a landing is paired with a jumble of signs near Flushing's Main Street. It was taken by Times staff photographer Damon Winter, who won the Pulitzer Prize in Feature Photography in 2009.
